We’re all entitled to feel how we feel about this very personal ‘invisible’ illness and a lot of the time I just want keep my type 1 diabetes discreet. But also I don’t want to take +extra+ steps on top of everything else going on to hide the quirkiness that comes with living with this chronic rascal, nor do I need to. Like millions of others dealing with their ‘thing’, I’m just riding my reality, you know?
Visibility of the other (whatever that may be) triggers awareness, which hopefully prompts education, which in turn can lead to understanding and acceptance. Or at the very least I’m not wasting a pod and precious insulin by sticking a new one literally where the sun doesn’t shine…
