The Dexcom G6 – A Discreet Piece of Magic

When you’re about to go for a run in 30 degree heat and you only packed black workout gear… time for @dexcom to get a little air! #gifted ⁣⁣

I don’t hide my type 1 diabetes by A-N-Y stretch of the imagination, but I do appreciate how discreet this little piece of magic is.⁣

I’m away for weeks at a time with my work (nine on this particular stint), setting up a new ‘normal’ with each trip. It takes a week or two for my diabetes to get into a groove while I adjust to new temperatures, environment, timezones, food and work pressures, and without any effort on my part, this little thing gives me the info I need to feel more confident and SAFE about making adjustments to my diabetes management as a result.⁣⁣ I’ve gone from dashing around London to sitting still for most of the day, from cooking for myself to barely picking up a knife, from 0 to 100mph in the best possible way, so trying to squeeze in exercise where I can is even more important out here.

I cannot extrapolate exercise, sleep, spending time outdoors or diet from my general state of wellbeing; they are all part of the same puzzle that plays into the countless (endless) hours I put in to stay on top of my chronic illness as much as possible.⁣⁣

I have BEYOND relied on the @dexcom to make all of this easier. Being in such a busy, all-consuming bubble out here means my sugars are bound to do some funky stuff, and even when the line is moving in the wrong direction, knowing WHAT direction it’s going in at all, much less without even having to stop to prick my finger is just SWEET RELIEF.⁣⁣

So here’s your little moment in the spotlight Dexy – you don’t make a song and dance about it, but you’ve low key changed the game.
