So… last year I had the privilege of sitting down with 10 brilliant humans to chat about their experiences of living with type 1 diabetes, and I popped them out into the world as the Type 1 on 1 podcast. Each person generously and candidly offered up part of themselves in a bid to help those dealing with this complex little trickster of a chronic illness feel less frustrated, less weird and ultimately less alone. Pretty incredible right? 💛
In these current very strange times (overused/understatement, I know) a lot of us, myself included, have had to grapple a whole new load of ‘stuff’, diabetes or otherwise – leaving me yearning to connect with people who can relate more than ever.
Type 1 diabetes is difficult, ridiculous, frustrating and baffling at the best of times, let alone in the context of a global pandemic.
So thanks to the gods of remote recording and with the help of my lovely sponsors Dexcom and mylife Diabetescare, plus the collective encouragement of so many wonderful people in my life and in this community, Season 2 of Type 1 on 1 will be landing on Tuesday 12th May!
My guests are not scaling physical mountains, nor do they have ‘perfect’ blood sugar control (note: nobody does), but they are REAL and they are being extraordinary in their own way: tackling the baffling mayhem of a a wild, relentless and at times infuriating chronic condition as best they can. Oh, and there is PLENTY of hope in there too.
So I’d be HONOURED if you would head to wherever you get your podcast fix and subscribe to Type 1 on 1. The first episode with the inspiring and wonderful actor Nina Wadia will be with you next week. See you then?
