This week was the 24th anniversary of my type 1 diabetes diagnosis so I did a little (long) video reflecting on how far I’ve come on this wild ride trying to imitate a pancreas. Turns out I’ve come further than I thought, which is nice! There are always going to be new lessons, but I’ve pulled out 24, which isn’t bad going is it? It’s funny how a lot of these lessons can be applied to life in general, so while there are many tough and ugly parts to living with type 1, I do think it’s equipped me to run about this world in some ways.
It gets a bit deep in parts, but then there’s also pizza chat, chocolate chat and having hypos at VERY awkward times chat… enjoy! I’d love to know some of the lessons that this thing called life has taught you – let me know, and lots of love to you all trying to figure out this rather unruly chronic condition.

Good Morning & bonjour. Loved what you said-I grinned & felt happy & sad at times. Pizza. I use Lo-Dough for wraps & occasional pizza. Bought beautiful large ceramic red pizza plate for the oven. No taste much to the base so home-made tomato base of onions, garlic, tin of toms & tom paste. Pile high with whatever you fancy cheese, saus olives-whatever, délicieuse & no later screw-ups! My infirmière is great & recommended Skin Tac wipes after I lost a couple in the pool & heat. Best Wishes, Roger
