Choosing an insulin pump as a diabetic (if you have a choice…) is kind of a big deal. There’s quite a lot to weigh up when you’re planning to be physically attached to a life-saving device on the daily. Or not, if you’re anything like me and did a pitiful amount of research because you were instantly sold on the idea of a tubeless pump…
This video walks through the complete process of changing an Omnipod – what’s involved, how often you have to change it and how long it takes to get the thing sorted so you can move on with your day. Because nobody’s got time to waste on faffy diabetes stuff when there’s life to be lived, ya know?
As I mention, I don’t yet have the Omnipod Dash – new users will not get the PDM I’m using in this video. However changing the pod is pretty much the same, so if you’re thinking about trying an Omnipod insulin pump and want to get a feel for the process of changing it BEFORE you sign up for the next four years, this might be worth checking out. Lastly, I know it’s boring to read but I’ve got to write it: this isn’t an instructional video. Don’t take me as any kind of authority here, that would be very, very foolish. Enjoy!
