The technology that helps us manage life with type 1 diabetes is getting better and better, but hooking yourself up to a type 1 diabetes devices is a personal choice – and with that there are loads of factors that may make one site preferable over another.
In this video I chat through all the places I’ve tried wearing both my Omnipod insulin pump and my Dexcom G6 CGM, and talk about why some places suit me more than others. Hopefully this is useful if you’re thinking about getting a diabetes device – I didn’t wear any diabetes devices for 18 years and now I comfortably wear two on my body at all times, but it did take a bit of getting used to before I wholly embraced my bionic bits.
The considerations around the patch pump vary greatly from insulin pumps with tubing, where only the cannula is attached to your body, but as ever this is just my personal experience. Let me know where your preferred sites are, or what you maybe what the deciding factors are for you!

Am an Omnipod user of 9 years and a Libre user since it came out. I totally agree with your piece but also one of my favourite areas for the Omnipod is like you, around the bra strap. When feeling bold I wear it further towards the middle of the back which is good, am slim and it’s not a problem. Currently though the pod is on my calf, the Libre on my arm so a nice bit of body between that is device free!
