Strength In Numbers – World Diabetes Day 2020

Along with my fellow Dexcom Warriors, I’m showing there’s Strength In Numbers when it comes to riding the intense wave that is a life with type 1 diabetes on this World Diabetes Day. The endless ~actual~ numbers involved with diabetes management can and do dictate my day, my outlook and my heart, but seeing others online sharing the same frustrations, fears and compassion for each other and crucially, for ourselves, is where I have taken a lot of my strength through solo isolation and the general chaos of this year – no matter what the blood sugar readings are saying.

As days stretched into weeks at home, the need for a warm hug became a ceaseless yearning and I molded further into my loungewear, the knowledge that we’re all in this wild existence together, even if not physically, felt more potent – and more comforting – than ever.

You can join me in sharing your own green circle #StrengthInNumbers post (no Dexcom required!), spreading those good type 1 feels to those that give you strength. Just don’t forget to include yourself, yeah? 💛

*My Dexcom is very kindly gifted.
