Where Is the Love?

Rocking big bad Valentine’s Day as a single pringle and L❣️O❣️V❣️I❣️N❣️G it.⁣

Do any other single women in their 30s feel that the pressure to find ‘someone’ is very subtlety just about everywhere? In film sub-plots, in targeted ads, in questions at parties and the endless engagement announcements on my Facebook feed – ones which I’m always SO excited by, btw, because firstly LOVE IS THE THING, and secondly once you’ve come to understand you’re worthy of love and your truth is one you’ve built from that place, there is room to clap loudly for everyone else’s love and truth too. ⁣

There is simply SO much love in my life – each and every day, in big and small ways, that I do wonder why the world seems so obsessed with what I’m supposedly missing.⁣

The ferocious devotion and wide-eyed wonder I have for some of the people in my life is so strong that sometimes I can feel it vibrate through me, and just because I’m not having sex with any of them doesn’t mean they’re not filling me right up (EY OHHHH).⁣

Sure, it’s a different kind of love but my friends have seen the darkest, ugliest sides of me, watched me stumble and falter and caught me, unwavering, every time, just as I hope I have for them. Doesn’t that count? Isn’t that valid?
⁣I’m raising my bunch to them today – and to you, lovelies. Yes, love makes you vulnerable and HELL I’ve been burned hard, but it’s also our greatest gift. Spread it all over, baby. There are so many men that are amazing and brilliant and kind and I can’t wait to make room for the right one. But I’m not going to worry about when that might happen just because I’m asked if I’m planning a pregnancy every time I go for a blood test.

I once heard an older lady on First Dates say, ‘People are obsessed with the spark but I’m looking for a slow burner now, because I’ve been in enough bonfires.’ ⁣Do we really have to choose between the two?⁣

Also I bought these ridiculous blooms for a friend from the lovely chap who runs local, independent, not overpriced @bunchhackney. I highly recommend for the loves of your life… whoever they may be.
